Let Truth Bloom

  Is there something in your life you have been seeking that just isn’t working out the way you planned, hoped, dreamed? Have you been doing all you feel you can do? Knocking on the door, asking, trying, waiting and feeling like God isn’t listening? My father was a wise man. When I was younger I was aggravated by something not working out the way I was convinced it needed to, despite my best efforts at the time. My dad, while filling his pipe with tobacco, asked me if I had prayed about it. I told him I had and that God hadn’t answered my prayers…yet.  Dad paused to light his pipe and drew a few thoughtful inhalations. He turned to me with his gentle, understanding eyes locked to mine and said, with his classic kindness: “you know that “no” is an answer too?” Although ‘no’ was not the answer I desired at the time, it was a relief to hear.
